Commissioned by Soga nv, BestBridges delivered a hybrid steel and timber bridge as part of the expansion of cycling infrastructure in the municipality of Moerbeke.
With this project, BestBridges supports the development of sustainable mobility by reducing environmental impact while strengthening essential infrastructure for public use.
BestBridges ensures the seamless delivery of bridges for pedestrian and cycling infrastructure. By managing complex fabrication and logistics, we relieve clients of operational burdens, allowing them to focus on higher-level planning and project strategy.
Hybrid steel and timber bridges combine a robust steel substructure with warm wooden cladding, offering the best of both worlds. The result is a durable, high-performance structure paired with natural materials that minimize environmental impact and blend seamlessly into the surrounding landscape.
BestBridges enhances this design with grooved timber decking, providing reliable slip resistance and ensuring pedestrian safety in all weather conditions.
Various types of wooden balustrades are available, made of tropical hardwood such as Azobé or Bilinga. These balustrades offer great architectural freedom, allowing them to be perfectly adapted to the bridge’s design. The balustrades are easily dismountable, ensuring easy long-term maintenance without affecting the integrity of the bridge.
