Commissioned by Tavernier Openbare Werken nv, this project involved the installation of a timber bridge in Merelbeke. Spanning 4 meters with a usable width of 2 meters, the bridge demonstrates a high level of craftsmanship and precise engineering.
The structure is constructed from 100% FSC-certified Robinia hardwood, valued for its durability and natural aesthetic. Pre-assembled off-site, the bridge was transported and installed by BestBridges with minimal disruption and without the need for on-site assembly.
Modular timber bridges by BestBridges are designed for pedestrians and cyclists and come pre-assembled, ready for delivery and installation on site with minimal preparation required. This streamlined approach reduces on-site complications and significantly improves construction efficiency and timelines.
Hardwood timber bridges constructed from FSC-certified Robinia are built to stand the test of time. Combining exceptional durability with natural aesthetic appeal, they integrate seamlessly into a wide range of outdoor environments. Beyond providing reliable functionality for public use, these structures also enhance and add value to their surroundings.
Various types of wooden balustrades are available, made of tropical hardwood such as Azobé or Bilinga. These balustrades offer great architectural freedom, allowing them to be perfectly adapted to the bridge’s design. The balustrades are easily dismountable, ensuring easy long-term maintenance without affecting the integrity of the bridge.
