As part of the upgrade of the parking infrastructure at KBC Mechelen, BestBridges delivered several short-span bridges featuring steel supporting structures. The bridges were specifically designed to optimally combine functionality, safety, and architectural integration.
To provide a safe and comfortable user experience, the bridges were equipped with a custom-designed low-profile balustrade that perfectly complements the architectural vision of the site. BestBridges offers a wide range of solutions for pedestrian safety and sustainable mobility infrastructure, always tailored to the specific context and requirements of each project.
The bridge decks were constructed using grooved timber decking boards, creating a durable, low-maintenance, and slip-resistant walking surface suitable for intensive use while ensuring optimal safety under a variety of weather conditions.
Various types of wooden balustrades are available, made of tropical hardwood such as Azobé or Bilinga. These balustrades offer great architectural freedom, allowing them to be perfectly adapted to the bridge’s design. The balustrades are easily dismountable, ensuring easy long-term maintenance without affecting the integrity of the bridge.
