In collaboration with Studiebureau Lobelle, BestBridges LAB designed a complete replacement of the aging timber jetty and boardwalk in the Prinses Josephine Charlotte Park.
This infrastructure renewal modernizes the waterfront and provides both the public and local boating enthusiasts with a functional, safe, and aesthetically appealing access point to the water. At the same time, the design was carefully tailored to its natural surroundings, ensuring that the new infrastructure integrates harmoniously into the park landscape.
The new timber structure was meticulously engineered to meet the specific requirements of a public waterfront environment. To guarantee the safety of pedestrians and visitors in all weather conditions, the boardwalk has been equipped with an integrated anti-slip deck.
To accommodate the practical needs of the local boating community, the jetty was fitted with robust mooring bollards for the safe docking of vessels. At the same time, the structural design thoughtfully incorporates dedicated utility ducts beneath the deck. This allows services such as lighting and water connections to be integrated discreetly and seamlessly, without compromising the clean and natural architectural appearance of the structure.
This integrated approach streamlines the decision-making process, reduces execution risks, and unburdens all stakeholders involved. As a result, every collaborative infrastructure project is delivered with the highest standards of technical quality, structural excellence, and shared success.
Various types of wooden balustrades are available, made of tropical hardwood such as Azobé or Bilinga. These balustrades offer great architectural freedom, allowing them to be perfectly adapted to the bridge’s design. The balustrades are easily dismountable, ensuring easy long-term maintenance without affecting the integrity of the bridge.
