Commissioned by Artes Group NV, BestBridges built a unique wooden deck structure with an integrated observation platform, serving as a valuable addition to the development of public space in Wijnegem.

The structure not only offers visitors a unique place to experience and engage with the surroundings, but—thanks to the sustainable use of wood—also contributes to improved accessibility and enhances the site’s landscape and architectural quality. This case study illustrates how well-designed infrastructure can strengthen the connection between people, the environment, and public space in a sustainable way.

Structures made of FSC^®-certified Azobé hardwood are designed to last for generations. Thanks to their exceptional durability, high natural resistance, and warm appearance, they blend seamlessly into a wide variety of outdoor settings.

In addition to being a reliable and low-maintenance solution for heavy public use, these structures also enhance the spatial quality and the aesthetic appeal of their surroundings. The walkway and the bridge deck were also constructed using grooved decking boards and integrated anti-slip strips, which enhance user comfort and ensure visitor safety in all weather conditions.
