The Nijvendries project focused on creating an attractive and functional public space. Commissioned by Rega Infra, BestBridges built a sustainable wooden walkway, complemented by carefully selected street furniture. The design, developed by Sweco, aimed to create a pleasant environment where residents and visitors can gather, relax, and enjoy the green surroundings. As the end client, Pidpa sought a high-quality design that not only aligns with the character of the site but also offers sustainable added value for the surrounding area and its users. The upgrade of the retention basin in the Nijvendries neighborhood is part of the broader stormwater and drought management policy of the municipality of Puurs-Sint-Amands.

Quality and Ease of Use in the Design

During implementation, special attention was paid to quality, sustainability, , and user comfort. The walkway blends naturally with the surroundings and creates an inviting gathering place, while the street furniture contributes to the functionality and appeal of the public space. Thanks to the close collaboration between Pidpa, Rega Infra, Sweco, and BestBridges, the result meets the expectations of all parties involved—both aesthetically and practically—and creates a pleasant space for residents and visitors.
