Wood is a natural and sustainable material that fits perfectly into both landscape and urban environments. At BestBridges, we use FSC® or PEFC certified timber from sustainably managed forests, combining European hardwood such as Robinia and Oak with tropical hardwood like Azobé and Massaranduba, depending on the application and desired lifespan. Timber also stores CO₂ throughout its lifecycle, making it a material with a low environmental impact. Combined with thoughtful structural design and durable detailing, we create timber bridges and boardwalks with a long lifespan and a warm appearance that harmonizes with the surroundings.

BestBridges uses only FSC® or PEFC certified hardwood from sustainably managed forests, selected by durability class. Depending on the application, we choose European hardwoods such as Robinia and Oak (Durability Class 1 and 2), or tropical species such as Azobé and Massaranduba (Durability Class 1), known for their high natural durability. Wood species are selected based on their durability class according to EN 350, the environmental conditions on site, and the desired lifespan of the bridge. This approach results in timber bridges and boardwalks with a long lifespan and minimal maintenance requirements.
For timber bridge decks and walkways, BestBridges applies integrated anti-slip strips for a safe, durable walking surface. The system uses a two-component epoxy resin with a wear-resistant aggregate, seamlessly embedded into the wooden deck. This creates a robust anti-slip zone that withstands heavy use, weather exposure, and wear, while preserving the natural appearance of the timber.
BestBridges timber bridges are well suited to public spaces, ecologically sensitive regions, and crossings over water. Fully customizable timber railings, safety mesh, and anti-slip grooved deck boards allow each bridge to be tailored to its setting.
Various types of wooden balustrades are available, made of tropical hardwood such as Azobé or Bilinga. These balustrades offer great architectural freedom, allowing them to be perfectly adapted to the bridge’s design. The balustrades are easily dismountable, ensuring easy long-term maintenance without affecting the integrity of the bridge.
