A bridge or walkway is rarely the largest expense in a project. But it’s often the biggest surprise. Whether you’re planning a new connection or weighing the options between renovation and replacement, we’ll tell you upfront what’s feasible and what it will cost, regardless of the materials or contractor.
In many park and landscape projects, the bridge or walkway is only a small part of the overall design. As a result, this element often remains just a sketch during the preliminary design phase, a nice concept, but without sufficient insight into the technical aspects, materials, or the actual cost.
Technical details and cost are only addressed once the contractor is already on site. That is precisely when additional work arises.
Even a short span isn’t necessarily straightforward. Difficult access, unstable ground, specific loads, or high standards for design and durability immediately affect the price whether it was estimated in advance or not.
By the end of 2026, there will still be room left in many budgets, even though the work itself won’t begin until 2027. A feasibility study fits perfectly into that timeframe: it’s limited in scope, can be launched quickly, and is immediately usable.
This is how you turn the remaining 2026 budget into concrete results: a cost estimate to serve as the basis for your planning, a justifiable choice of materials, and bills of quantities and specifications that will be ready when you put the project out to bid in 2027.
We complete simple studies within a few business days. Contact us in a timely manner, and you’ll have the report in your hands before the end of the year.
The question every board asks
That’s a valid question, and we’d love to hear from you. That’s why a LAB program is designed so that you’re never tied to us at any point.
LAB works during the preliminary phase. The earlier you bring us on board, the more room there is to adjust the price. Once the contract is published, the terms are set in stone, and any changes will be costly.
Your measurement schedules and specifications refer to the design and requirements, not to specific products. There are no standard specifications that, in practice, end up being filled in by only one supplier.
Every bidder submits a bid based on the same technical criteria. This makes the bids comparable to one another and ensures that your subsequent evaluation is justifiable.
You’ll receive everything in an editable format. It’s up to you to decide when to put it on the market and whether to have your own engineering firm make any further adjustments.
Let’s discuss it in a 30-minute conversation. No strings attached.
Design and implementation under one roof
A company that sells a single material rarely concludes that another material is actually cheaper. We don’t have a catalog to defend. There is no set “BestBridges bridge” that we try to install.
What we do offer is an assessment based on criteria that you can review: span, load capacity, design, service life, maintenance, feasibility, and total cost. Sometimes the result is wood, sometimes steel, sometimes composite, and sometimes a combination. You can present the advice you receive to your city council or administration without having to defend it as a choice of supplier.
In addition, we manufacture and install the structures ourselves. A cost estimate from the job site holds up better than one based solely on drawings.
For New and Existing
A new riverside connection, a boardwalk, or a bridge that hasn’t been built yet. We’ll evaluate your sketch or preliminary design for feasibility, material selection, and cost, and provide you with a proposal you can use to put the project out to bid.
Renovate or replace? We inspect the structure, determine its remaining load-bearing capacity, and compare both scenarios, each with its own cost estimate. This allows you to make an investment decision you can justify.

Send us your preliminary design, sketch, or specifications. You’ll receive an initial assessment of feasibility and budget. This way, you can start the bidding process with fewer headaches.
Are you having trouble figuring something out? Or do you have a question that isn’t listed here? We’d love to hear from you. Just get in touch with us.
That depends on the scope of your project, its complexity, and what’s already on paper. That’s why we always provide a customized quote. However, certain elements are always included: a technical analysis, a comparison between renovation and replacement where applicable, a cost estimate for each scenario, and recommendations that aren’t tied to any specific material.
That varies by project, and we don’t make any sweeping statements about it. The benefits come in three areas: choosing materials that meet the actual requirements, contractors who can quote prices without a risk margin, and additional work that doesn’t need to be done because the problem has already been solved on paper. During the initial consultation, we’ll point out where the greatest potential for savings lies in your project.
A quote from an engineering firm is based on calculations. Ours is also based on what we paid last month for a similar bridge in terms of steel, transportation, and installation hours. Combining these two approaches makes sense, especially for materials that your firm doesn’t work with on a daily basis. The division of responsibilities remains the same: the engineering firm remains the designer, and we provide technical and pricing input.
Our role is to provide technical support and advice during the preparatory phase. What you do with the documentation afterward, and the procedure you follow to bring it to market, is entirely up to you. This is because our advice is independent of specific materials and brands. All bidders receive the same documents, so we have no advantage. If you have any doubts about how this applies to your specific situation, please feel free to consult your own legal department. We’ll be happy to provide the necessary information.
As soon as there’s a sketch or an initial idea. At that stage, any changes are still inexpensive, and the choice of materials can still significantly impact the budget. If your specifications are already finalized, we can still review them for feasibility and identify items that might result in additional work in practice. However, the potential savings are smaller at that point.
Both. Sometimes it’s just one question: Will this foundation hold up, or how much will it cost to use composite materials instead of steel? Sometimes we guide you through the entire process, right down to the calculation sheets and detailed drawings. You decide for yourself what you need us for.
